Karbon Homes and Castles and Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) have committed to doubling the scale of their work together through the Karbon Solutions cost sharing vehicle.
Karbon and cost sharing vehicle founder member CCHA have been working together for five years now and have committed to expanding their successful partnership further.
Since 2015 Karbon has provided a range of services through Karbon Solutions with CCHA benefiting from support with heating servicing and repairs to around 3,000 of its homes in the North-East and North-West.
Since that relationship was formed, CCHA has grown significantly Karbon Solutions is expanding its heating repairs and servicing offer to an additional 3,000 owned and managed by CCHA.
Over the next few weeks we will be limiting the number of services carried out each day and reacting to essential and emergency repairs only. We will continue to monitor the situation with coronavirus to ensure that this level of service is appropriate for the ever changing environment we are facing and is in line with HSE & government advice.
In total, Karbon Solutions will now provide services to around 8,000 homes owned by other landlords - with all parties agreeing to work on the basis of shared values, and benefiting from reduced costs.
Karbon Solutions is a cost sharing vehicle (CSV) which allows some organisations like housing associations to benefit from the Cost Sharing Exemption on services by making VAT savings on labour. Karbon Homes, CCHA and a third partner, Byker Community Trust, are all members of Karbon Solutions.
Ian Johnson, Director of Property Services at Karbon Homes said, “I am delighted to see our long-term partnership with CCHA grow further. This is the culmination of 12 months’ work to integrate these additional 3,000 homes into our existing arrangement. This will give CCHA full assurance that their customers’ heating systems are being maintained to the highest standards, with full transparency on costs.”
Rob Brittain, Property Services Director, at Castles and Coasts said “since its inception, the partnership has had a clear focus on delivering a consistent high quality customer focused services that ensures our residents are safe in their homes. The excellent relationship between the founding members means all partners clearly understands the needs of our residents, the high standard of service required whilst also being cost efficient”.
Karbon Solutions and CCHA are talking to a range of other partners about the opportunities provided by working in partnership to deliver services to their organisations.
