Celebrating diversity at Cumbria Pride 2024

Our team had an incredible time attending Cumbria Pride 2024! The event, held on September 21st in Carlisle, was a vibrant celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with current and future residents.

At our stall, we proudly promoted who we are and what we do, handing out goody bags and engaging with festival goers. Our aim is for our diverse team of over 290 dedicated colleagues to feel safe to be their authentic selves and we work hard to break down barriers to our services. This commitment was evident in the enthusiasm and warmth shared by everyone at the event, including our colleagues (pictured above, left to right) Adam, Joe, Louise, Kristina and Victoria.

Joe shared his experience: "It was a lovely day spent with great colleagues. There were lots of people in attendance and it was so nice to see people of all ages having fun. It was a really warm and accepting atmosphere!"

Kristina added: "I had a great day getting to know my colleagues and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. There were lots of smiling faces, a real celebration of openness and individuality."

Victoria reflected on the day: "It was great to be out in the community representing CCHA. We saw lots of familiar faces from last year who came back to visit us for our brilliant goody bags! Lots of young people were keen to hear how you apply for our housing – the next generation is coming through!"

Adam also shared his thoughts: "It was fantastic spending time with colleagues I don’t normally work with and an amazing opportunity to promote Castles and Coasts as a housing provider and employer of choice."

Julie, CCHA colleague who visited Cumbria Pride with her family said: “the girls really appreciated meeting some of the CCHA Team at Pride on Saturday, everyone had a great time”

We are proud of our participation in Cumbria Pride 2024 and look forward to continuing our support for the LGBTQ+ community. Thank you to everyone who visited our stall and made the day so special!
