Summerscales phase 1 release

Castles and Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) are pleased to announce that we have appointed Grisdales Estate Agents to market the new homes on our development in the picturesque Lake District village of Gosforth, Cumbria. 

Summerscales, part funded by Homes England, is the first major development in the village for many years. Once complete, it will provide 20 mixed tenure homes for people that live and work in the local area, helping to address the need for affordable housing across the region. 

Phase one sees the release of four plots, each available for sale on the open market. Homes available through Shared Ownership and Rent-to-Buy schemes will be released later. All properties combine contemporary design with local sandstone features to fit in with the surrounding village and Lake District National Park.  

Local company, Thomas Armstrong Construction started on site in Summer 2023 and aim to have all 20 homes completed by the end of the year. Each home, ranging from 2 to 4 bedrooms, incorporate eco-friendly design and materials and inset  solar panels in the roof. They will have an energy performance rating of B or above, helping to reduce both the carbon footprint and living costs for residents.
