This is a pivotal time for anyone involved in public sector procurement. Understanding the changes can position you to take full advantage of the new processes which will apply to all new procurement opportunities published on or after 24 February 2025.
This date has been recently extended from the originally published date of 28 October 2024 for the Government to review the associated National Procurement Policy Statement prepared by the previous Government.
CCHA is working with the Cabinet Office’s Transforming Public Procurement team, undergoing training, developing new processes and policies to support implementation of the Act.
As a supplier, you need to prepare for this significant change, familiarise yourself with the Act and the changes you will need to make.
Suppliers will need to register as a current or potential supplier on the Government’s new central digital platform, which will be available in early 2025.
The Government has put some information together into one helpful website area. You can access it by clicking here. It includes links to a suppliers’ guide, ‘knowledge drop’ videos and the full version of the Act.
Suppliers are encouraged to sign up to regular updates on the Procurement Act implementation process on the GOV.UK website.
