I would like to inform Castles and Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) of my intention to install CCTV, or any other recording device, such as a Ring Doorbell at my property

Please take this as written confirmation that the images stored on my CCTV device will be used for domestic purposes only and will only capture images within the boundary of my property and not capture public or shared areas such as public pathways, communal hallways, corridors or shared gardens.

I can confirm I will carry out the following:

  • Display window stickers informing people that CCTV is in operation
  • If a CCHA employee, or anyone working on CCHA’s behalf asks me not to record them I will turn off the recording equipment
  • I will not put recordings of CCHA employees, or anyone working on CCHA’s behalf on the internet or social media
  • If I intend on installing CCTV which requires amendments to the property such as drilling holes through walls or any electrical work, I will seek permission to make amendments to the property as outlined in my Tenancy Agreement

I understand that should my CCTV system record outside the boundary of my property, this could be considered as intrusive to people’s right to privacy and could cause nuisance, harassment, alarm, and distress, which would be dealt with in line with CCHA’s ASB Policy. I understand that this may result in CCHA asking me to remove my CCTV system, and I agree, and I will remove it.

I am aware that if I record outside the boundary of my property, this is subject to legal obligations under the data protection laws. For more information please see the guidance provided by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). I am aware that if I fail to comply with my obligations under the data protection laws, I may be subject to enforcement action by the ICO. I understand I may also be subject to legal action by affected individuals, who could pursue court claims for compensation. I understand that under the Data Protection Charges and Information Regulations 2018, individuals and organisations that process personal data need to pay a data protection fee to the ICO unless they are exempt. Please see the ICO website for further information https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/data-protection-fee/self-assessment/
