Castles & Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) have maintained the highest possible ratings of G1 and V1 following an in-depth assessment (IDA) by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH). Confirmation of the gradings has been published on the RSH website today.

The housing provider was assessed on how well it’s run, and achieved the G1 rating, which means it’s meeting all of the governance requirements from the RSH. Financial viability was also assessed and again, the highest rating of V1 was awarded.

The rigorous IDA process took place from March to June. On behalf of the RSH, a team examined CCHA’s key strategies, policy documents, reports and minutes to committees and Boards, from the last year. They also held a full day of interviews with CCHA’s Chief Executive, Directors, Board Chair and Audit & Risk Committee Chair, as well as attending and observing the Board meeting in May.

CCHA’s Chair, Simon Roberson, said “The IDA is a very thorough process and as always with this type of assessment, it’s a testament to everyone’s hard work and commitment to CCHA – colleagues and Board Members alike – that we have achieved the best possible ratings of G1 and V1.”

CCHA’s Chief Executive, Steph Murphy, added “I’m delighted with this outcome, especially during the current challenging economic climate. The IDA is an independent validation of how well we are run and of our financial viability.”

IDAs are carried out for all registered providers of social housing. You can read more about the IDA process and what the ratings mean here
