Castles & Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) has organised a community morning in Hetton Le Hole from 10am to 12noon on Friday 7th July as part of a week of events in neighbourhoods across ten towns and villages in Cumbria, Lancashire and the north east to mark Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week.
CCHA is joining the national campaign to tackle ASB and help keep people in our communities safe. The community morning takes place at Gelt Crescent in Hetton Le Hole, with a community litter pick, communal skip and an estate walkabout. CCHA colleagues will be on hand to chat to residents and hand out leaflets on how to report ASB during the litter pick.
Running from 3rd to 9th July, ASB Awareness Week 2023 aims to encourage communities to take a stand against ASB and highlight the actions that can be taken by those experiencing it. CCHA handled 789 cases of ASB in the 2022-23 financial year and is committed to supporting those residents who are affected by the issue.
Dawn Clark, Housing Services Director at CCHA said: “At CCHA we believe that everybody has a right to enjoy their home and live safely and peacefully. ASB can really blight neighbourhoods, so we’re committed to working with our partners, residents and our local communities to tackle it.”
Organised by RESOLVE, the UK’s leading ASB and community safety organisation, the week features a series of events all across the UK involving housing associations, local councils, police forces, charities, community groups and sports clubs.
Anna Bates, Head of Housing at CCHA, said: “Awareness weeks like this are a great way to remind residents to report ASB so that we can support them, investigate each case thoroughly, and take any necessary action as a result. We’re really looking forward to chatting with residents throughout the week and beyond, so that they know we’re here to help if they have issues with ASB.”
