After successfully making the change for its homes in the Eden district in 2023, Castles & Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) is bringing the repairs service for its 593 other homes across the South Lakes region in-house, from Monday 22 September 2025.

The service will be delivered by our Castles & Coasts Services (CCS) team. CCS has a dedicated network of almost 100 operatives, trades people and support staff with a wide range of skills experience. The team has been expanded in readiness for these changes.

Working closely with the current provider, South Lakes Housing, CCHA has contacted all affected residents to let them know the change is happening and aims to make the transition to CCS as seamless as possible.

Mark Robson, CCHA’s Head of Direct Maintenance Services, said: “This change gives us a great opportunity to deliver an enhanced service to residents across the whole of the South Lakes area.

“The customer journey will be smoother, from it being even easier to make an appointment to book a repair right through to jobs being completed to our high standards within our set targets, thanks to the added flexibility our expanded team of trained CCS operatives will bring.”

Reporting a repair

The way residents report any repairs is staying exactly the same as before, and full details on our website here.

The only difference is that it will be CCS operatives attending to carry out the work if it’s scheduled on Monday 22 September or later.

Residents are reminded to always check the ID of anyone claiming to be from CCS or CCHA before they allow them to enter their home. Our colleagues will always carry an ID badge and will arrive in CCS-branded vans to carry out work in resident’s homes.

If you are a CCHA resident living in the South Lakes area and have not been contacted directly about the change to your repairs provider, please call our Customer Services Team on 0800 085 1171.
