To help make residents’ personal information even safer, Castles & Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) is introducing a new security feature in July 2025 for making payments, which means payment details will be hidden during telephone transactions.
From July, when a resident calls to make a payment they will be asked to use their keypad to type in the relevant card information. This means that there is no way for payment information to be stored on any CCHA system, and residents will not have to read their card information out loud.
Pamela Armstrong, CCHA’s Customer Services Manager, said: “This is a really important improvement to the way we take payments over the phone, which offers even more assurance to our residents. Our friendly Customer Services Advisers have been fully trained on this new system and will be on hand to talk residents through the new process and offer any support needed.”
The change in the way CCHA accepts payments is in line with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), developed and maintained by the PCI Security Standards Council to protect payment data throughout the payment lifecycle. CCHA will be using an approved, secure system called ‘PCI Pal’.
There are also lots of other ways residents can make a payment too, which are listed on our website.
