Castles & Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) is proud to stand with organisations across the UK in support of ASB Awareness Week 2026, a national campaign running from 29 June to 5 July 2026, which shines a spotlight on the impact of anti-social behaviour (ASB) and promotes safer communities.
Last year, CCHA handled 797 cases of ASB and is committed to supporting residents who are affected. Now in its sixth year, ASB Awareness Week comes at a critical moment. New research from YouGov, commissioned by Resolve in April 2026, shows that ASB is both widespread and worsening, with over half of UK adults having experienced or witnessed ASB in the last three years, and six in ten saying more needs to be done to tackle it.
To mark the return of ASB Awareness Week this year, CCHA has organised a week of estate walkabouts in neighbourhoods across nine towns and villages in Cumbria and the north east.
Anna Bates, Head of Housing at CCHA, said: “At CCHA we believe that everybody has a right to enjoy their home and live safely and peacefully. ASB can really blight neighbourhoods, so we’re committed to working with our partners, residents and our local communities to tackle it.”
YouGov research shows a clear public appetite for action:
-
Nearly half of adults say ASB is a problem where they live
-
41% believe ASB has increased in their area over the last three years
-
Most victims and witnesses do not report ASB, often because they believe nothing will be done or do not know how to report it
To help our residents take action, during ASB Week, we will be asking residents to complete a short survey to understand perceptions of safety and help identify unreported ASB issues.
Anna continued: “We are committed to supporting ASB Awareness Week 2026. Anti-social behaviour is a significant issue as it affects people’s sense of safety, their mental health and, for some, their ability to stay in their home. ASB Awareness Week is an important opportunity to be out in our communities, meeting and listening to our residents, as well as raise awareness, support victims and make sure people know where to turn for help.
